{pretty, happy, funny, real}

round button chicken

I've never participated in this before...but have always wanted to do so!  So here goes....

A bouquet for Mom from some sweet boys--I love the colors together!

A princess who needs her beauty sleep. Notice the tiara she is snuggled with!

The number of pictures of lego creations I have stored on my hard drive.
This is one of one thousand or something like that.
Good memories--I can't imagine the day that doesn't involve legos but I know it will come.
Hopefully, not soon.

Yes, that is disgusting.  We had two, yes I say, TWO seals go bad on toilets this week.
How is that possible?
This was the worst--see all the yucky ruined wood?  Apparently, it had been leaking for awhile.
It is a testament to my husband's plumbing skills that he fixed it the way it should have been done to begin with.  And yes, the builder has heard our complaint and unfortunately, the wood will have to be replaced.

Dune buggy!

An impulse purchase from Tractor Supply.  Hey, it was almost half off! :) The kids love it--it is fast enough to make them go "woohoo!" and yet, there are those great things called seatbelts that make mom really happy.  Even Jake drives it (but he can't stop).  Jacob already took the leg off the stationary tub trying to put it away in the garage for me (it is fixable).  It is a blast!  I wish I could get my pregnant self in it!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Happy 4th Birthday, Elizabeth!  You have grown so much in the last year.  You constantly amaze me with your sweetness and I think that you are possibly the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world!

You have big ideas especially when it comes to your birthday.  You wanted a purple cake and it had to say "Happy Birthday" and it had to have your name on it so everyone would know it was yours!  And you really really wanted a castle cake.  Thankfully, you were thrilled with the final product and gazed at it all morning and you handled it really well when your little brother ate half the letters off of it.  :)  And then, you really didn't eat any of just had ice cream!

When you opened your presents, your standard response was a very excited "Thank you" and "Oh! OH! It is just what I've always wanted!"  To  I love your zest and exuberance!

You had a fantastic day.  You had it all:  a purple cake, lots of wonderful presents, crafts with cousins, and most of all you had your favorite friend Gracie to spend the day with.  We love you, Elizabeth!  And we love celebrating your life with you.  May God bless you this year!

Baby update.

I am officially 35 weeks and 5 days today--and according to that ticker waaaayyy down at the bottom, I only have 30 days to go.  Crazy!  This has been a pregnancy that has definately flown by.

I spent my mother's day evening in L&D being monitored because I was a typical clumsy pregnant lady and fell smack on my belly.  I was working in the garden and had a plant in one hand, a shovel in the other and managed to trip on some sticks the kids left laying in the yard.  I didn't have time to get my hands under me.  So, after 2 ultrasounds and 24 hours of  being hooked up to a fetal monitor, I finally am home and baby seems good.

But now, I am a worrywart!

I am, of course, sore and scraped up.  The biggest concern with the fall was placental abruption.  I worry now that something is going to go wrong and I'm not going to know in time!  Because, with a placental abruption, it doesn't always happen right away.  I really did not like sitting in the hospital all that time while my family is home without me (it is different when you have a new baby to hold!).  But, it was reassuring to always be hearing that heartbeat!

I'm just going to keep praying that this little one is doing just fine and that God will give me the grace to know when something isn't okay.

And, we've really really got to come up with a name! :)

A wonderful day!

Patrick and his banner.

Patrick celebrated his First Holy Communion yesterday.  It was such a wonderful day!  My mama's heart couldn't be happier about seeing one of my children receiving a sacrament.  Combine that with three wonderful feast days--the beatification of Pope John Paul II, Feast of Divine Mercy, and Feast of St. Joseph the Worker--and it was one big "woohoo!" of a day.
In front of the podium before Mass. The paschal candle is right there on the left, but I didn't get that in the frame!

Patrick just had the best spirits about it--very excited, not nervous at all.  He really didn't want to take the wine, and he hesitated when it was his turn, but at the last moment--he did it!  The entire Mass was beautiful and went off without a hitch.

Receiving a scapular at the end of mass.

On top of the general blessing of the day was that the rain stopped long enough for the party--it literally poured right before we needed to step out of the house and quit.  And didn't rain (hard) again until party-goers were starting to leave.  We did have a shower towards the end but the kids were having a great time playing in that!
With his cake, decorated by Grandma!
